Praveen Amarasinghe is a graduate student from Sri Lanka who was motivated by the positive impact that agricultural technology can have on the world. He completed his bachelor's degree in Agricultural Technology and Management, with a focus on Agricultural Engineering at the University of Peradeniya. During his undergraduate studies, he conducted research on modeling the temperature of a single coffee bean during far-infrared roasting.
After graduation, Praveen worked as a temporary lecturer in the same department, where he conducted practical sessions for undergraduate students and was involved in various projects and research related to instrumentation, automation, and food processing.
With the aim of pursuing a career in research, Praveen then joined the Advanced Soil and Plant Sensing Laboratory, MSU to pursue research in the area of plant MIR spectroscopy.
