Overview

Seth Givens is a graduate student from Cleveland Ms. His academic journey began with an associates degree in general agriculture from East Mississippi Community College. This degree helped strengthen his love for agriculture, which led him to study Agricultural Engineering at Mississippi State. It was here that he got his bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, which opened his eyes to the engineering side of agriculture.

Seth has roughly two years of undergraduate research experience as a student worker at Mississippi State University, working under two different professors. Having two different professors broadened his experience of field work. These work experiences helped to refine his idea of agriculture.

Seth joined the Advanced Soil and Plant Sensing (APSS) Laboratory at Mississippi State University to pursue his Masters degree under the guidance of Drs. Nuwan Wijewardane and Mary Love Tagert. His research focuses on soybean phenotyping, which aligns with his roots of farming in the MS Delta.
