Overview

Yican Yang, a graduate of the Henan University of Technology, majored in Food Engineering and completed his undergraduate studies in 2020. Following that, he pursued his Master's degree in Biosystems Engineering at the University College Dublin in Ireland.

In the fall of 2021, Yican joined the lab of Prof. Da-Wen Sun, where he conducted his graduation experiment and thesis. The focus of his thesis research was the utilization of hyperspectral imaging (HSI) for monitoring the dehydration process of pineapple slices during hot air drying. Yican further expanded his research experience by working as a placement student at the Teagasc Agriculture and Food Development Authority in early 2021. During his time there, he conducted various research projects centered around seaweeds.

Driven by his passion for research, Yican joined the APSS Laboratory at Mississippi State University to pursue his Ph.D. studies.
